This bar graph shows top volunteers this month by number of transcriptions with user SteveBrandt at 360, CitySelby at 258, and Plieated at 191. We have 2,028 rock star volunteers in total! This chart shows finished deeds by month in 2018. There were 7,521 finished deeds in October; 5,327 deeds finished in November; 3,443 deeds finished in December.

JIM CROW OF THE NORTH SCREENING
Please join us for a FREE advance screening on February 18 of Jim Crow of the North, a Twin Cities Public Television documentary film that is based on the work of the Mapping Prejudice Project at the University of Minnesota.

The film is about 60 minutes in length and will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A with the producer, Daniel Pierce Bergin, and members of the Mapping Prejudice team.

JIM CROW OF THE NORTH premieres Monday, February 25th on TPT

We are excited to announce that a new documentary from Twin Cities PBS, Jim Crow of the North, will debut this February. The film is based on the work of the Mapping Prejudice Project.

Why does Minnesota have some of the worst racial disparities in the nation? Early twentieth-century restrictive real estate covenants laid the groundwork for our contemporary inequities. See the Events section for details on attending an advance screening at the University of Minnesota.

Mapping Prejudice at the Minnesota State Legislature

On Tuesday, January 22, 2019 the Judiciary, Finance and Civil Law committee of the Minnesota House of Representatives advanced legislation that gives homeowners a way to repudiate the racist language of housing covenants. This bill will be coming up for a floor vote sometime during this legislative session. Thanks to Representative Jim Davnie and Senator Jeff Hayden for crafting this legislation. Read More
